Access Software for Visually Impaired
To accommodate visual disabilities, including blindness, Donka provides students with any needed software and/or hardware they require to use a computer with independence. Products include screen magnification software, screen reading software, enlarged keyboards, Optical Character Recognition (OCR) scanning software and hardware, and even iPad and iPhone applications.
JAWS
JAWS (Job Access with Speech) for Windows is the most popular screen reader that works with a PC to provide access to software applications, including web browsers. Information from the screen is read aloud, providing technology to access a wide variety of information, education and job-related applications. This program is widely used by people who are blind.
ZoomText
ZoomText is a screen magnification and screen reading program that allows users who have limited vision to use the computer. It enlarges and enhances everything on the user’s computer screen, making all the applications easy to see and use.
MAGic
MAGic is a screen magnification and screen reading solution for low vision computer users. MAGic assist the user with more efficiently with business applications, documents, email, navigating the Internet, and engaging in social networking. MAGic delivers smooth, crisp letters, even at the highest magnification levels.
Pearl Camera
The Pearl Camera is a portable reading solution for blind and vision impaired users. Combined with Open Book software the Pearl Camera gives instant access to printed material. Open Book converts printed documents or graphic-based text into an electronic format on your PC, using quality speech and the latest in optical character recognition (OCR) technology.
Talking Typer
Talking Typer is a computer keyboarding and typing training software that speaks and displays lessons on screen. It includes drills, practice, and typing games and is adjustable to the student’s level of skill and sight impairment.
