Studies show that technology plays a great role in improving the mental and emotional well-being of persons with disabilities. Many graduates of Donka’s computer training program have gone on to secure jobs which, in turn, has helped them gain financial independence and increased self-efficacy. High school and college age students benefit from the individualized instructor attention they may not receive in larger classes.
Interested students must meet certain criteria and will undergo a computer skills and knowledge pre-assessment. Donka has a very high acceptance rate for enrolling new students.
For more information about enrolling into Donka’s computer training program, please visit our Enroll page or email us with your contact information.
If you are an educator and/or professional who works with persons with disabilities and you are looking to be trained in assistive technologies, please visit our Train the Trainer page for more information or contact us to schedule a lab visit.
Cost of Services
Our cost to provide Microsoft Office Suite computer training with AT averages $8,000 – $11,000 per student.
Financial support is available and can include one or more of the following resources to assist with the cost of the training and can be discussed with each individual during their intake interview.
- IL Department of Rehabilitation Services (Link 1) (Link 2)
- Private insurance
- Public school / University reimbursement
More than 90% of our students are low income per the 2019 MFI, and most of these students are referred by the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services, which covers a portion of the cost of Microsoft Office Suite computer training with assistive technology in our DuPage and Kane County computer labs.
