It was an unforgettable day at Rockin’ for Our Vets: America 250, celebrating 250 years of freedom alongside the men and women who have served our country.

Donka was honored to be one of 25 selected charitable organizations participating in this special event at Cantigny Park, featuring an incredible performance by Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band and special guest Hunter Girl. The event, organized by the West Suburban Foundation for Disabled Veterans (WSFDV) and the Gary Sinise Foundation, raises support for disabled veterans and their families through housing assistance, mental health resources, and other essential services, including Donka’s Operation Brighter Futures program.

One of the day’s most touching moments came before the concert when Bill Kalbfleisch, Wheaton Chapter Coordinator for Guitars For Vets and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, presented Gary Sinise with a custom guitar he created in honor of Gary’s family’s legacy. Named “Mighty Mac” after Gary’s son who passed away in 2024 after battling cancer, the guitar was a moving tribute to his memory and a powerful reminder of music’s ability to heal, connect, and inspire.

Thank you, Cantigny Park, WSFDV, Gary Sinise and the Gary Sinise Foundation, and everyone who made this event possible. As a charitable partner, Donka will receive support that helps us continue providing computer and assistive technology training, employment services, accessibility resources, and individualized support for veterans as they work toward greater independence and opportunity.

We are grateful to all who attended, volunteered, performed, and supported this incredible celebration of our veterans. Together, we continue to invest in brighter futures for those who helped secure ours.
